Global Montessori Academy is accepting applications for the position of 3-6 Lead Teacher for the 2011-2012 school year in an established Montessori classroom. Applicants must have a 3-6 certification from an accredited Montessori teacher education program and be committed to maintaining an authentic, peaceful Montessori environment throughout the school. 
Global Montessori Academy is also accepting applications for a full time Toddler Room Assistant for ages 18 -36 months as well as a full time Primary Room Assistant for ages 3-6 years.  Applicants need to be enthusiastic, caring, and peaceful, with a love of caring for children. Montessori experience and/or training is preferred. Montessori training/internship is available to qualified employees.

Cerner currently has two on-site Child Care Centers, Innovation Kids Learning Center, located near the Innovation Campus at Three Trails Crossing, and Cerner Kids Learning Center located on the World Headquarters Campus in North Kansas City.


Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a member of our leadership team to serve as Director of the Innovation Kids Learning Center.  This position is responsible for managing team members to maintain high standards including: hiring, performance evaluation, recognition, professional development and disciplinary action.  Recruitment and retention of the best available talent will include building relationships with colleges, universities, and local professional organizations in the Early Childhood field.  The Director will also oversee curriculum and programming to meet the needs of our children and families.  Additionally, this position manages daily center operations to ensure compliance with Missouri state licensing requirements and will develop effective working relationships with state agency representatives.  The Director position facilitates the enrollment process, including tracking applicants, ensuring availability in classrooms, and communicating status to parents.  An important priority of this position is to develop relationships with Cerner associates to encourage open communication with all families, as well as building strong working relationships with internal partners including: Properties, Finance, Human Resources, and external suppliers to resolve issues and ensure smooth daily operations.  The Director position will also develop and implement policies and processes to ensure consistent operational excellence and facilitate Parent Advisory Board meetings.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or equivalent work experience, in compliance with state requirements for Director
-Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
-Leadership experience in the Early Childhood Education field
-Ability to manage multiple project and priorities simultaneously
-Superior customer service skills
-Strong business acumen
-Ability to work across Cerner organizations
-Ability to work overtime and irregular hours
-Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience in a Director role at an Early Childhood Learning Center
-Montessori certification
-Strong computer skills

Early Childhood Teacher

Responsibilities

For more than 10 years, CernerKids, on-site child care center with 240 children enrolled, has supported the mission and vision of Cerner by providing children of associates with a nurturing and educationally stimulating environment. The Montessori philosophy and curriculum guides the programming. Cerner currently has two on-site child care centers, one in South Kansas City and one in North Kansas City.

The full time Pre-Kindergarten Teacher will be responsible for curriculum planning and implementation, parent partnership and basic care giving for children 6 months to 6 years of age.  Cerner has openings for both full and part time teachers to join our team. The position schedule for full time teachers is Monday through Friday and the hours are four, ten-hour days with a rotating day off each week. Part time teachers will work five, five-hour days each week.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-High School Diploma
-Experience working with children under the age of 6
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
-Ability to multi-task required

Preferred Qualifications:

-Early Childhood degree or certificate preferred
-Previous experience in a daycare or preschool setting preferred
-Ability to assess and respond to the needs of children
